Worldbuilding, sharper checks, and steadier connections

  • Characters and monsters can carry descriptive flavor — how they look, sound, and behave — which the game master draws on when narrating them, and the party now starts in a placeholder location the GM knows along with the surrounding region; early groundwork, with no map or movement yet
  • The GM now describes all damage from a single action as one simultaneous hit, so a bonus effect like Giant Ancestry is never framed as wasted when it lands with the weapon's blow, and each damage type's full contribution is shown so a lethal hit doesn't make part of the damage look like it did nothing
  • Observational actions, like watching an enemy for signs of fear, now call for an Insight or Perception check instead of being narrated without a roll, and checks and saves the GM should call for are no longer occasionally skipped — including while another roll is already pending
  • Live campaigns now detect a dropped connection in the background and reconnect automatically, so a brief network hiccup no longer leaves you stuck with a "connection closed" error; a lightweight heartbeat keeps the connection warm without keeping the campaign's server awake
  • The initiative rail now tracks the current turn with a Round marker that moves down the order (and across on mobile) as each combatant acts, with a hairline marking whoever is up, and combatants who have already acted this round are dimmed
  • Chat feels steadier while the GM writes: messages stay smoothly anchored to the bottom as the reply streams in instead of lurching down with each chunk, scrolling up to reread something no longer yanks you back down, and tapping a quoted speech line highlights it the same way hovering does on desktop
