Characters, monsters, and better Game master feedback

  • Characters and monsters are now different kinds of creature under the hood: a character is defined by its level and a monster by its Challenge Rating. The only monsters so far are the placeholder enemies, and nothing changes in play yet — it is groundwork for real monster stat blocks
  • Every creature also records who controls it — a player or the Game master. The Game master is told which creatures are not controlled by the players, and to leave the players' own words and actions to them. The control label is groundwork; play is otherwise unchanged
  • Fixed the Game master sometimes describing a creature as slain after a spell had only wounded it
  • Each Game master reply now shows a feedback button next to the reaction button
  • Pick from a set of common problems — an unexpected or missing ability check or saving throw, the story taking a sharp turn, something forgotten, something made up, or inappropriate content — or choose Something else to describe it
  • Each option you pick opens an optional box so you can say exactly what happened
  • A copy of the message history and the game state is sent with your feedback so we can see exactly what happened, and the dialog tells you so before you send
  • Dice now settle behind an open dialog instead of rolling on top of it
  • This is an early version: feedback is recorded for the team to review, and there is no reply or status yet
