- Area spells can now use any of the six shapes from the rules — sphere, cone, cube, cylinder, line, and emanation — instead of only a sphere
- You place the area on the battle map yourself: pick a point for round shapes, tap a top-left corner for cubes, or pick a point and aim for cones and lines
- Round shapes now cover a true circle of squares instead of a square block
- An emanation is centred on whichever creature or object you tap, not just the caster
- On phones the battle map now opens with the whole map in view instead of zoomed in
- Sample spells for each shape are in the action bar so you can try them out. Whether a shape includes its own point of origin currently follows the rules' default; choosing it yourself is still to come
- Creatures the Game master controls now roll for themselves. At the start of a fight their initiative is rolled automatically, all at once, so the enemy line tumbles together instead of one prompt at a time. The enemy results stay on screen until every player has rolled their own initiative, so you can see what you are rolling against
- When an enemy is forced to make a saving throw or an ability check, it rolls automatically too. The result appears on the table with the creature's name, the die, and whether it passed
- Automatic rolls are shown to everyone at the same time, so the whole table sees the same result
- Creatures the players control are unchanged: you still roll your own initiative, saves, and checks yourself
- Enemy attacks and damage rolls are still made by hand — only initiative, saves, and checks are automatic for now
- The home page activity graph now shows how many changes shipped in the last 30 days
- The actions toolbar now scrolls sideways when the buttons don't fit, so every action stays within reach on a phone instead of being cut off
